Auchteralyth is 3 miles northeast of the small market town of Alyth, in north-eastern Perthshire. It is easily accessible from Glasgow and Edinburgh airports. For motorists, there are good motorway links as far as Perth. The relatively empty roads of north-east Scotland are a joy to drive on. Rosyth Ferry Terminal, where the Superfast Ferry from Zeebrugge docks, is just an hour away by road.

Ideally situated on the edge of the Highlands, Auchteralyth has easy access to wonderful, varied countryside. To the immediate north and east are the stunning Angus Glens. To the east are the thriving port city of Dundee and the unspoiled sandy beaches of the east coast of Scotland.

Glamis Castle is approximately 10 miles away, close to the historic town of Kirriemuir, the birthplace of author J.M. Barrie, while Braemar Castle and Scone Palace are both within easy reach.

In and around Alyth itself there are two superb 18-hole courses: Alyth Golf Club and Strathmore Golf Centre which offer varied and challenging golf.
